CERAMIC AND PORCELAIN CROWNS

From health, stability and aesthetic point of view the ceramics and porcelain belong to most suitable materials for preparing crowns. In some cases the porcelain material is not differentiated or it is only according to a small content of porcelain clay.

There exists so-called metalloceramic crown which is most frequently used and is very suitable for larger bridges. As the description already says, it is a combination of metallic-based crown coated with a ceramic layer. The ceramic coating process is done in a vacuum chamber.After cementing the crown on the prepared tooth the metal part is not at all visible.

In dental replacement procedures there are used also non-metallic ceramic or porcelain materials. They are more suitable for smaller dental works such as facets or inlays which are in the dental lab made small fillings placed on the tooth or inside the tooth and fixed with a special glue.These dental works belong to the most expensive aesthetic, prosthetic and cosmetic dental treatments.
