How does the CEREC treatment work?

Preparation

  • During the CEREC treatment, the dentist will first sand your teeth, then clean and prepare them.

Mini-camera

  • With the help of a special miniature camera the dentist will scan your teeth and also the areas requiring treatment and repair.

3D modulation

  • Thanks to top quality dental software and 3D CEREC mapping, the dentist digitally models a new tooth or a different prothesis using the computer, which then precisely places the tooth in its surrounding, with new intelligent technology considering all aspects of treatment.

Ceramic cube and milling

  • The completed 3D specification is then transfered from the computer to a gentle miling machine, on which a cube of dental ceramnics is placed. Thanks to the gentle work of a milling machine the cube is transformed into your new tooth in just minutes.

Shade

  • CEREC takes everything into consideration, of course, including the matching shade of your tooth. Dental ceramic cubes come in many varieties of shades, and the ceramic material can be polished and coloured according to your needs and wishes.

You can see everything for yourself

  • Don’t miss the process of making a new tooth. At Alfadent you can witness the wonderful work of CEREC, the most up-to-date worldwide technology, with your own eyes.

CEREC – white fillings – high quality, beautiful teeth for your whole life

White fillings, or what we commonly call dental fillings, are labeled as ceramic inlays and onlays by dentists. The label comes from English and is also commonly used in Czech. Inlays are ceramic fillings glued into a tooth. Onlays are ceramic sollutions glued onto a tooth. Their advantage is the material of which they are made - high quality, hard dental ceramic. This material is, more than anything else, better suited for molars, which have to endure the high pressures of chewing. Inlays and onlays are highly esthetic, blending in with their surroundings to look like an actual tooth. They are also used as a possible solution for beautiful white teeth.

How will you attach my CEREC dental prosthesis?

Inlays, onlays, and crowns made by the CEREC system will be glued using a special adhesive with multiple layers. The process of gluing is a highly sophisticated dental technique. It is a precice solution preventing any kind of bacteria or inpurities from penetrating into the cracks while drinking and eating. The crowns are glued onto the dental implants in a similar way. They are placed on a so-called aboutment, or addition, on an implant screwed into the bone. In fact, the aboutment replaces the original sanded tooth.

Ceramic steel – why ceramic prosthesis?

Solidity of material – ceramic steel

  • Ceramic has been demonstrating its unique character for quite some time now – in the form of heat shells in the aerospace industry, brake discs in the automotive industry, or artificial joints in health care. The arrival of highly resilient cermamics, instead of current metal constructions, means a completely new era also in dentistry. Even the most up-to-date method of creating full-ceramic dental bridges - called zirconia ceramics, also labelled as ceramic steel, proves the resiliency of the material.

A natural look – the secret of ceramics

  • You can’t tell the difference between ceramic prosthesis and your own teeth as they perfectly copy the way a tooth reflects natural light. In addition, fully ceramic constructions create a perfectly natural look for your teeth because they are made without a metal core, which can often shine through a tooth.

Biocompatibility – without allergic reactions

  • The human body can accept fully ceramic products without any complications - there are no allergic reactions. With a fully ceramic prosthesis, you also don’t experience a metal taste due to the metal construction, which often reduces patient comfort.

Longevity – tens of years

  • Fully ceramic products last a long time, in most cases, decades

Low heat conductivity – even for sensitive teeth

  • Unlike heat conductive metal, ceramic is proven to be a good insulator. Even with highly sensitive teeth there is no reaction to heat or cold.

Safe care – high quality

  • Fully ceramic products can assure you safety – dentists the world over use them, and their quality has been proven with many millions of patients. The safe use of fully ceramic crowns is the result of the high quality and stability of the ceramic material itself.

Is CEREC treatment safe?
